(12/30/10) State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli released a scathing audit of the village of Lake Placid's finances Wednesday. DiNapoli's office found village employees had collected more than $110,000 in payments for accrued leave time and benefits that they were not entitled to receive. State auditors said the village should get law enforcement officials involved and try to recover the money. As Chris Knight reports, village officials say they've taken steps to address the deficiencies uncovered by the audit.

(03/09/07) The new State Comptroller, Tom DiNapoli, has taken a number of public actions in recent days, including the appointment of a commission co-chaired by former New York City Mayor Ed Koch to look at public integrity issues. DiNapoli says he wants to restore the credibility of his office, after the resignation of Alan Hevesi over personal use of state employees. Karen DeWitt reports.
